Gloomy Carnival, 2022-06-11

This was my first puzzle from the Abandoned series, and I loved it! Some of images look like they may be a bit too dark, but this was perfect. It remained interesting to the end, and was just the right amount of challenging (which is to say, not all that difficult). Great puzzle, and fun idea for a series. I’ve said before that I would love to do more horror themed puzzles, but I find most of them too dark (understandable, of course). This series definitely has a horror vibe, and I can definitely see this a setting for a Stephen King story 🙂

  1. This does look like a spooky series with G-rated horror, that’s about all I could handle whether it be for a puzzle, book, or movie. It’s definitely a fun and new idea for a series/collection, can’t say I’ve seen anything like that done by other puzzle companies.

I don’t go out of my way to browse horror themed puzzles, but I would assume that perhaps big puzzle companies (like Ravensburger, Buffalo, Heye, Jumbo) don’t release those kinds of images just because maybe they don’t want those types of (horrific) images associated with their brand????

P.S. I had something weird happen when I when I just published a new post to my site just now. The post published to my site but was backdated from over week ago and thus was not at the top of my homepage. I’ve never tweaked the when to publish settings (immediately verses scheduling a specific date and time) so I’m not sure what happened. Thankfully it was easy peasy to unpublish the post and then republish it with the proper immediately setting (it actually defaulted to that, which is how it’s supposed to be anyway). I mention this longwinded story because I’m curious what WP does with notification settings. When I unpublish, I wonder if WP removes the new post alert from your notifications. Or do you end up with two new post alerts?

    • I don’t suppose they would like to do anything really gory, but I was thinking more along the lines of movie posters – I love horror movies 🙂

I have just one notification about your post, and that’s for today. It’s possible that WP doesn’t send notifications for backdated posts. The same thing has actually happened to me, took me a while to work out where my post went…
