I love this image. I can never resist painted or real cakes (photos of cakes, however, are often less appealing). It’s an Educa, so I did have some trouble with pieces fitting in the wrong places, but overall I still liked it. Would have been better as a Ravensburger, of course.
Next up a Tactic puzzle with text and milkshakes 🙂
The woman on the box is a Californian who lives (lived?) in Finland. There were also pictures of two other puzzles in the series on the back of the box, one with cupcakes and one with popcorn.
There’s a recipe for a strawberry-cheesecake milkshake in Finnish, and I did the text first, of course.
I finished the Bizarre Bookshop, and it was nice. This was the best Ravensburger quality, none of the tabs had separated, as I’ve unfortunately seen lately in some puzzles. I found myself using the box a bit more than I prefer, but it was still a fun puzzle.
Each shelf has a theme, and the titles are familiar. This is the food section.
I would like to be Lord of the Pies, but often I feel more like Lord of the Files 🙂
This was fun and quite easy, a typical Ryba image.
I like educational puzzles, and this one was great. Volcanoes are really interesting, although I wouldn’t like to live near one!
So, I’ve had many horrible photos on this blog, but this is quite possibly the worst. I snapped the photo and didn’t look at the result, and by the time I noticed, I’d already taken the puzzle apart. Oh, well. I’m not doing it again to get a better photo, it was quite difficult.
I’m back in Dortmund for the weekend and back to this interesting puzzle. The easy part is now done, and there is no way I’ll be able to finish it before I leave again on Monday.
This was mostly enjoyable, although the old Educa problem of pieces fitting where they don’t belong was definitely present. The image is great, though! I also managed to lose one piece (at the far end of the table).
I wanted to do a quality puzzle after the Sunsout, so I looked to my Ravensburger pile and pulled out the first Bizarre Bookshop puzzle. There are at least two, and in addition, there’s an 18 000-piece puzzle with four Bizarre Bookshop images. Part of the reason I pulled this is that I recently saw the 18 000-piece puzzle for a good price, and I want to check if I’m interested. Not sure yet, but for the first time in ages I felt like doing the traditional thing and do the edges first.
A 2000 piece Educa showing a scene from ancient Egypt. A statue of a lion (?) is being transported to some building site. I liked the panorama format.
