Seasons of New York, 2023-08-14

I think this is my first image by Lars Stewart, known to puzzlers as husband of Aimee. I might not have gotten this at all, but it was sold as a set together with another puzzle I really wanted (a map with pirates by Heye). Well, I’m very happy I did get it, because it turned out to be very entertaining, and much easier than I expected. Also, while Ravensburger is, of course, usually great quality, this turned out to be especially smooth, somehow. Loved it!

Vintage London, 2023-08-11

Eight images with famous London landmarks. As expected, this was very enjoyable and quite easy. I did the texts first, and most of the skies last – there were only about 50 completely blue pieces, and even those had many shades. Loved it!

Gradient, 2023-08-10

The prismlike shapes made this slightly more difficult than a smooth gradient puzzle I’ve done, but it was still great fun. I started in the top left corner with purple, moved on to red, then yellow and green in the bottom right corner, then blue and finally light green. There was quite a lot of puzzle dust, which occasionally happens with Clementoni, but otherwise the quality was good, as usual.

Space Colony, 2023-08-07

Cartoon image with lots of funny details. I did end up using the box image quite a lot, but it was still fun and quite fast.

There’s a multipurpose sports arena, where they seem to be playing American football, soccer, basket ball, golf, baseball and either tennis or badminton, all at the same time:

The local restaurant offers take-away pizza:

Alice, 2023-07-30

Disappointment doesn’t begin to describe my experience with this puzzle. I’ve had the odd Ravensburger with a missing piece where I’ve suspected that I maybe didn’t lose the piece myself, but I’ve never had anything even remotely like this. Seven pieces missing and two extra pieces (doubles) in a 300 piece puzzle. This is is a massive fail in quality control, and I’m shocked to see such a thing with a Ravensburger.

I did contact Ravensburger, and they answered promptly, offering another copy of the puzzle. When I declined, they offered me a choice of any 300-piece puzzle (with normal pieces, like this one, not the XXL-pieces) currently in stock. I guess I’ll take them up at that.

The puzzle was produced in 2022, and it’s part of the Disney 100 series celebrating 100 years of Disney.

Cupcake Party, 2023-07-28

This was just as much fun as it looks like. I was actually quite relieved to find that the puzzle had random cut, since some Eurographics puzzles now have a grid cut with just the basic piece shape. I was expecting to do the coffee first, but somehow the blue cupcake with silver sprinkles was the one that stood out the most.

The puzzle came in a pretty nice metallic box:

There was a poster as well, but I didn’t use it.
