Great image of New York. I especially enjoyed doing the sky.

An image with (English-language) women writers and quotations from their works (I presume). Unfortunately, you can’t make out the text at all in the photo.

A Ravensburger set of two 500-piece puzzles with an image from the swinging 60’s. The street view was a bit easier than the shop, but both of the puzzles came together really fast.

I started this puzzle back in May in Dortmund, and then didn’t get back until August. There were only a few hundred pieces left when I had to leave it, so it didn’t take that long to finish. The image was really difficult, after I had spread out all the pieces, it seemed that most of them had some red white and blue on them. Fortunately, this was a very good cut from Tactic (doesn’t happen often), with very distinct piece shapes and no false fits, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to finish this.

On this trip, I also found a puzzle piece among the clothes in my cabinet. I tentatively identified it as an Educa piece, and had no problems finding the puzzle it was missing from in my database. It’s from this puzzle, and the piece has been missing since 2018 😀 I no longer have the puzzle, I passed it on soon after completing it.

This was a lot of fun, a cartoon style puzzle with scenes from old movies.

My favourite is Harold Lloyd, hanging on to a clock in Safety Last! from 1923:

There is also Marilyn Monroe doing the famous air vent scene from The Seven Year Itch (1955), and beside her, Charlie Chaplin.

King Kong has been filmed many times, but I assume this is from the 1933 version:

For the puzzle challenge, this is #17, makes me laugh.
Very entertaining cartoon style puzzle where a movie is being shot.

The hero is apparently called Lizzard Girl.

There was a bit of a snafu with the cut, the right edge was far too thin, and the left edge too broad.
Part of the right edge:

Part of the left edge:

You can see that the left edge doesn’t lie flat, because the cut is quite rough. It was only the left edge though, the rest of the puzzle was fine.
For the puzzle challenge, this is #20, (Cartoon) Hero.
I did two puzzles from the Ravensburger Exit series, Dragon Cave and Treacherous Harbor. In Treacherous Harbor, the light in the lighthouse has gone out and a ship is approaching, and in Dragon Cave you have to help a dragon to get an egg to hatch. You can peek at the finished images here (dragon) and here (harbor).

I’ve decided not to do anymore dedicated spoiler pages for Exit puzzles (I’m not really good at the puzzles in the puzzle anyway), but you can still find links to photos of the finished puzzles and to the Ravensburger help page on the general spoiler page. I’ve also added links to photos of the English page in the instruction booklet and the solution in the envelope for all Exit puzzles that I’ve done.
For the puzzle challenge, Treacherous Harbor was #10, uneven number of pieces, and Dragon Cave #16, edges last.
Another installment in the Ravensburger Lost Places series. I think I have all of these 🙂 It was a nice a puzzle, although I fail to see what’s so mysterious about the library. For the puzzle challenge, this will be #18, a library or a book case.

This turned out to be more difficult than I was expecting, but it still remained entertaining to the end. I love painted cakes in a puzzle image, somehow they’re even more satisfying than photographic images of actual cakes.

While I would happily eat everything in this image, I would probably start with this:

Chocolate and raspberries 😋
For the puzzle challenge, this is No. 6, delicacy.
No. 15 of the puzzle challenge is a minipuzzle (less than 100 pieces), and I only own one puzzle that fits the bill. I’ve done it once before, and it was still a lovely little puzzle. Took about ten minutes to put together.

Unfortunately, the year has not started well for Borussia Dortmund, and the manager had to go last week, but I’m not convinced that he was the problem. At least we managed the first win of the season on Wednesday, a 3-1 against Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.
