This was one Christmas puzzle I really enjoyed (I’m not usually a fan). Not surprising, since I like pretty much anything kitchen-related as a puzzle image. I started with the Gelinis (except for the grey one, those pieces were impossible to pick out) and then started filling in the rest. Moderately challenging and great fun.
Gelini’s Christmas Bakery, Ravensburger, 1500 pieces. Completed on December 22, 2023.
This was, perhaps, the least entertaining Aimee Stewart puzzle I’ve ever done. The puzzle itself is fine, of course, I just wasn’t feeling it, especially in the beginning. It happens sometimes.
Fairytale Fantasia by Aimee Stewart, Ravensburger, 1000 pieces. Completed on November 26, 2023.
This was just as much fun as it looks. As expected, the large text on top was the only thing even remotely challenging with this, and even that was pretty easy.
Books, Bits & Bobs by Tetiana Bulba, Ravensburger, 1000 pieces. Completed on November 5, 2023.
Another puzzle from the Abandoned series, and probably the most difficult one of the ones I have. It was the last puzzle I completed in Dortmund this time, I am now back in Helsinki with my car (I took a ferry from Travemünde).
The puzzle was rather slow, but still a complete pleasure. At first all the pieces looked so dark, but it wasn’t long before I started to see different shades. I think this would be very difficult to pre-sort, but fortunately, I don’t do that.
Forgotten Arcade by Eduard, Ravensburger, 1000 pieces. Completed on October 28, 2023.
I did the slightly lighter bits, like the popcorn and the clown, early:
At some point, I started to put aside all pieces with text on them, but many were so dark it wasn’t easy to see if there were text or not. Most of the games had names, here we have Truck Monsters, The Wizard of Oz and Hydro Speed.
The creepiest game of all, is, however, nameless:
Loved the puzzle! Also, WordPress reminds me, that it’s the fifth anniversary of my blog.
Lovely little Halloween puzzle with large pieces. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy this all that much, but it was nothing to do with the puzzle. I had a cold and was running a fever when I did this, and was really incapable of enjoying anything. This puzzle deserves better. Anyway, I’m all better now. Happy Halloween!
The Halloween House, Ravensburger, 300 pieces. Competed on October 10, 2023.
I was certainly expecting to find this puzzle entertaining, but it turned out to be even better than I thought it would be. It was so much fun, even though the 50s is well before my time.
The 50s, Ravensburger, 1000 pieces. Completed on October 1, 2023.
I’m pretty sure this was put together by a German, considering that it features currywurst:
Bratwurst in (preferably spicy) tomato sauce, with curry on top. Usually served with fries or a bread roll. Very popular in the Ruhr area, where Dortmund is, and I quite like it myself.
This type of 50s frock became popular again for a while in the late 70s / early 80s. I remember being quite envious of a friend of mine who got to wear authentic 50s frocks, because her mother had kept her old dresses.
An installment in the Ravensburger Apartment Envy-series. This was fun and came together really fast. While van life is not for me (I like the comforts of home far too much), but I have a friend who loves it.
Life on the Road by Jason Taylor, Ravensburger, 1000 pieces. Completed on September 22, 2023.
This puzzle was just as much fun as it looks like, I loved it! I think this is my first by artist Nathaniel Mortensen, but I hope to see more from him.
Beautiful Mushrooms by Nathaniel Mortensen, Ravensburger, 1000 pieces. Completed on September 20, 2023.
This was one of those puzzles that has a sort of flow to it, where you never have to stop to think what you should do next. I worked this from top to bottom, starting with the sky, then the vegetation, then water, beach, and finally the shells and man-made objects i the foreground. Loved it!
The Shell Collector by Steve Read, Ravensburger, 1000 pieces. Completed on Septemer 9, 2023.
