Football, 2016-07-10

This took me almost two months, must be my record for a 1000 piece puzzle πŸ™‚ It was really difficult, Mordillo’s big nose characters are difficult to tell apart. I did this in honour of the 2016 European Championship, and ended up finishing after the tournament was over, on the day of the final. I did some other puzzles in between, of course.

Dragons of the World, 2016-03-12

This is my only Serendipity puzzle so far. I don’t think they’re active anymore, I tried to look them up, but the last post on their FB page is from 2012, and the website is no longer online. Anyway, the quality is excellent and the cut irregular. The image is interesting and unusual. I have no idea if it’s connected to a book or movie or something, or if it’s just a random dragon image. It was actually quite difficult, all the dragon piecesΒ  looked the same before they were put together.

Japanese Garden, 2016-11-08

Very enjoyable puzzle. It’s nice to have a non-rectangular puzzle now and then, even if it usually takes up more space. This was only my second Sunsout puzzle, and the quality was good. The cut is irregular, as it has to be in this case.

Amazing World, 2016-02-20

World map with a border of flags and pictures of animals as well as boats and planes on the ocean. More fun than a regular map πŸ™‚

I was juggling four pieces of cardboard to assemble the puzzle on, and a whole stack of them to spread out the rest of the pieces. As you can see, I didn’t bother putting the sections together properly.

Doors of India, 2016-10-31

This is a Nathan puzzle, produced by Ravensburger for the French market. The quality is exactly the same as in other Ravensburger puzzles, the only difference is that the finish is shiny, as opposed to the more matte finish that other Ravensburger puzzles have.

This was perhaps a bit more difficult than I would have expected, and also not quite as enjoyable. I have no idea why; quite possibly I was just in the wrong mood.

Athene, 2016-11-27

My first and so far only Great American Puzzle Factory puzzle. They’re not available in Europe, as far as I know, and I got this one as a swap. About 10 years ago, I was posting puzzle photos on Flickr and started talking to a Californian puzzler. We decided to do a swap, I sent her two puzzles, and she sent me two in return. This was one of the puzzles I got, the other had an Ancient Egypt type image. I sent her this, and another puzzle, can’t remember which.

Anyway, the puzzle is nice and the quality good.

Funky Zoo – African Habitat, 2016-02-25

Funky Zoo is a great series by my favourite artist, Marino Degano. There are currently 8 instalments with various areas of a zoo, and you can put together the images to make an entire zoo. I think that means that the path and the river are always in the same place so that you will get one very long puzzle πŸ™‚ As far as I know, the series is still ongoing, there was one release this year (Australian Habitat). I have all eight, but I’ve only completed two so far.

Sports Fans, 2016-01-19

Panorama of a stand with supporters. Sorry about the horrible glare. This wasn’t really that enjoyable, the image was too busy, and somehow I didn’t like the style.
