Great painting by John Everett Millais from 1851. The woman in the picture, Mariana, is a character in Maesure by Measure by Shakespeare. I love the way the setting and dress is mediaeval, but her pose looks very natural and relaxed. On the table in front of her there is some sort of needlework, and she’s clearely got up to stretch her back a little.
As a puzzle, the left half was great, but the right half was a bit too dark. The puzzle itself was darker than the image on the box.
