Funky Zoo is a great series by my favourite artist, Marino Degano. There are currently 8 instalments with various areas of a zoo, and you can put together the images to make an entire zoo. I think that means that the path and the river are always in the same place so that you will get one very long puzzle 🙂 As far as I know, the series is still ongoing, there was one release this year (Australian Habitat). I have all eight, but I’ve only completed two so far.
So, this is proving a lot more difficult than anticipated, and I didn’t expect it to be easy. I still like it, it’s just really, really slow. There are only four different types of berry so that the same type covers many squares. If they only had used more types of berries, this would have been great. Originally, I thought I would be able to complete one type/day, but I’m well past that now 🙂 At least it’s a Schmidt, excellent quality, and very satisfying when you do connect some pieces. I’m definitely getting my money’s worth, this was bought used for 1 EUR.
I found one more of the Stenvall duck puzzles, that’s 28 down, two to go! The last ones may take some time.
I’ll be out driving again for much of the weekend, but I’ll try to get some puzzling in as well!

This was so much fun, educational puzzles are great! They always have text, which I love in a puzzle.
Unfortunately, I only have a very small photo of this lovely puzzle. I like East-Asian art, but many of the images would be too difficult as puzzles. This was nice and not too hard.
Another Eurographics donut collage. This was nice and colourful, it was easy to pick out the pieces for each donut.
This image is available with 1000 pieces and with 100 pieces from Eurographics, and I actually intended to buy the 1000-piece version. One reason why I didn’t realize my mistake was that this costs almost as much as the 1000-piece version – a bit of a rip-off if you ask me. The quality was normal Eurographics quality, not wood or anything, so I don’t really understand why it was so expensive. Of course, you’d expect to pay more per piece for smaller puzzles, but 1000 pieces 13.50 EUR and 100 pieces 12.50 EUR?
Anyway, the puzzle was nice and the image is gorgeous.
This is the last of the Ravensburger Exit/Escape-series, for now. I’m hoping for more instalments next year 🙂 I saved the best for last, Vampire Castle is more colourful than the other puzzles in the series, and it was great fun to assemble. Hardly any trouble with edges either (I know I’m repeating myself here, but if you do one of these, do the edges last if you value your sanity).

The backstory is that on holiday in Romania I stumble into an old castle and get locked in. Then I notice the resident vampire is waking up, and need to find a way to drive him back into his casket…
I loved this! There is just the right amount of cartoon antics, but the image is not too busy.
