This is part of of Heye’s Tinga Tinga series showcasing African art. It’s a beutiful image, and it was an engrossing and quite challenging puzzle. Loved it!

For the puzzle challenge, this is #7, Africa.

I had a look in my database to see what puzzle has been sitting in my to do pile the longest, and it turned out to be this Heye puzzle that I got in 2008.

It was great fun, with lots of funny details. I thought the piece on the left was part of a Madonna with child statue, but it turned out to belong further down 🙂

Surprisingly, the devils have been able to sneak into heaven, although there are some fierce looking nuns with clubs that try to keep them in line:

Apparently, the bosses both upstairs and downstairs have a telephone, and they seem to be on a call with each other:

I hadn’t planned on using this for the puzzle challenge, but since I noticed that there are several religious buildings in the middle part of the puzzle, I’m counting this as #13, a religious building.
It’s been a while since I did a Heye cartoon image, and this turned out to be great fun. I’ve only done one by these artists before, and while I didn’t enjoy that one much, but I’ve now confirmed that it was just the wrong time for that puzzle, because this is very similar, and I loved it. This time, the city is, of course, Venice.

There’s a premiere at the cinema:

and a concert at the Rialto bridge:

I think the ensemble is not yet complete, because I found four musicians on their way to the bridge in the puzzle:

“No to big ships” – Large cruise ships are indeed now banned from entering Venice.

Another Zozoville puzzle, this time not belonging to me, but loaned to be by friends. This was lovely, and quite easy to do. Notice how the tooth that’s come out also looks happy 🙂

Another adorable Zozoville monster. Like most of the Zozoville puzzles, this was pleasantly challenging. I did the monster first, then the sea, and finally the sand.

This was my second puzzle with an image by Swedish artist Anders Lyon, and while I enjoyed it, I liked Cruise a lot more. I started with the sky and the water, but after that I kept putting in pieces here and there.

Loved the rollercoasters:

The police are following a car with a chest of money on the roof:

This was great fun! The puzzles in the Zozoville series often look more challenging than they are. and this was no exception. There is so much variation in the background that it never gets boring. The first thing I did was the map, and the last the rocks on the bottom.

I’m now in Dortmund for the week, but before I left, I started on a 2000-piece Zozoville puzzle. Notice how I’ve placed the puzzle so that I can work on it from three sides. It’s a fun puzzle, and I’m looking forward to getting back to it on Sunday.

About Dortmund, my trip turned out a bit more exciting than usual. I was supposed to fly to Düsseldorf on Friday morning, but there was a strike at the airport in Germany, so my flight got cancelled on Thursday. I was offered a flight on Monday, but I wanted to be at the game on Saturday, so I cancelled that reservation and found a flight to Berlin on Friday afternoon instead (Frankfurt would have been closer, but those flights were all sold out), and then took a train to Dortmund. It actually worked out rather well, although it wasn’t cheap, last minute flights are always expensive, and I had to get a first class ticket for the train since all the second class seats were sold out. It was actually very comfortable, and I was home in Dortmund shortly after midnight.
I did consider just not going, but I’m glad I did come, because the game was a fantastic 6-1 trouncing of Köln (Cologne) that saw us go top of the league. On Sunday, Bayern made it even better by losing their own game so that we are still on No. 1. The next game will be on April 1, against Bayern, in Munich, and if we can get a draw out of that, we have an excellent shot at the title. It will be difficult, though, it must be 10 years since we have gotten any points in Munich.
Another puzzle from the Inner Mystic series by Andy Kehoe. Unfortunately, there’s one piece missing, and I can’t find it. Oh well, it’s a stunning image, anyway.

This puzzle was originally released in 2011, but I missed it then. Six years later I managed to find a copy on Amazon. That makes this #23 in the puzzle challenge I’m doing, “a puzzle long searched for”. They probably didn’t make many if these, it seems to be quite rare.

Satyrs are creatures in Greek mythology. They were companions of Dionysus, and the image here is of a big party.
The band:

There’s not only a black sheep, but also a wolf in sheep’s clothing:

Those are stamps, right? Not sure why a satyr would think stamps are the key to seduction, but then they weren’t very smart 🙂
