This was a lot of fun! I remember complaining some time ago that there were too few puzzles with pop culture subjects available in Europe, but things have improved a lot lately. Especially Clementoni, but also Ravensburger have many puzzles with images from movies and TV-shows, and I’m loving it!
For my puzzle challenge, the shark in the middle makes this #21, a person or character I would not like to meet.
A very busy image, but it was fun to do. This is a new puzzle, so for my puzzle challenge, this will be #30, a puzzle published in 2023.
Someone is on the phone, and the phone makes me think the artist must be as old as me 🙂
I especially liked this poster. I thought it was a piece of abstract art first, but I can now see it says “Jazz”, so probably a poster advertising a concert.
This was lovely to do, but again, there’s a piece missing. No mystery this time, I got this puzzle from a charity shop, and most of the puzzles from there have missing pieces.
The sun, as well as the outlines of the characters and the goal glow in the dark, but not enough to get a good photo of it. For the puzzle challenge, this will be #22, the puzzle has some kind of effect.
Another 750-piece puzzle with large pieces. This is a room that I would definitely feel right at home in, and I loved it as a puzzle. I recognize the puzzle on the table, it’s an actual Ravensburger puzzle with a greenhouse. I haven’t done it, although I remember it was a 500-piece puzzle, but the puzzle in the image has 1000 pieces.
For my puzzle challenge, this is #24, a puzzle that fits at least three points (my hobby, a book, and large pieces).
I’m already certain this will be one of my favourite puzzles of the year. There were lots of funny details and non-standard shaped pieces, and I loved doing a non-rectangular puzzle for a change. For the puzzle challenge I’m doing, this is #15, “a lighthouse”.

The top. The birds all have little crowns, making them king fishers, I suppose.
An image from the 1940 Disney movie Fantasia. It was easier than I expected, but I would not like to do it as a 4000 piece puzzle in the Disney 40K monster. I bought this because I remember being fascinated by the bewitched brooms as a child, and that makes it #11 in the puzzle challenge I’m doing, “a puzzle that reminds you of your childhood / youth”.
This was a lovely puzzle, with my one of my favourite type of image: cakes and pastries. For the puzzle challenge I’m doing, this is #10, “a puzzle with large pieces”. The pieces were twice as big as normal, and the finished puzzle is 80 x 60 cm. I’ll probably be keeping this to do again.
The “pie chart” was my favourite part of the puzzle, but all of it was great, really.
This was a lovely puzzle to do, and also quite easy. For the puzzle challenge I’m doing, this will be #1, a guitar (I found three guitars in the image).
This was a lovely little snack, I did it more or less in one sitting. Somehow, I always find painted cakes even more appealing in puzzles than photographs of actual cakes. This will be #26, a round puzzle, in the puzzle challenge I’m doing.
This turned out to be just as entertaining as I’d hoped, although it also kept me up far too late one night 🙂 It reminds me of a game I played on PlayStation 3, called Alice – The Madness Returns, and I loved that game. Most of the time was spent in a beautifully done wonderland, some of it in steam punk style, and then there were some shorter interludes in Victorian London. Anyway, despite being a bit dark, the puzzle was great, and even though I don’t think the Cheshire Cat was in any way dangerous, this is going to be #3, a nightmare, in my puzzle challenge. Because the overall feel here is definitely nightmarish.
